ART AFTER SCHOOL
is an innovative program that builds creativity and community through
exploration of age-appropriate art projects. Offered in blocks of about six
sessions per block (depending on the Church calendar), the program welcomes children and youth who are
currently in grades 1 and above. No previous art experience is necessary. A
variety of art projects are offered that challenge the participants to
imagine, create, observe, and interact with one another. Thanks to a
generous grant from the Hubbard Foundation, Art After School is free.
Sessions are held on Wednesday afternoon, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. in St. John's
Church Parish Hall (entrance at end of driveway off Elm Street).
We’re looking forward to welcoming back young artists from last year’s
program, our summer "Cow Camp", and getting
to know new artists.
The projects this year will include a ―tag team‖ drawing game,
learning how to create a fantasy town by using the magic vanishing
point in order to draw with perspective, cre-ating colorful designs
using Cray-pas and pens…and that’s just the beginning!
Session Blocks are:
Fall Block: September 8 - October 13, 2010
Winter Block: January 5 - February 9, 2011
Spring Block: April 27 - June 1, 2011
